Reflections from James…
Who was it that said that the first casualty of war is
truth? Well, anyway, it would seem that
the battle to free the people of Africa from the grips of the enemy and his
cohorts will entail exposing hypocrisy in “high” places. In our previous post, we mentioned an
organization called the Africania Mission (AM).
This organization purports to be interested in preserving African culture,
but in truth, they are merely agents of Satan who will stop at nothing to keep victims
of this horrendous practice called “Trokosi” in torment.
We have interviewed many former
Trokosi women who do not share the twisted view of Trokosi that is being promulgated
by the AM. The AM has enjoined so-called
studies that supposedly serve to dispel the “myth of Trokosi Slavery” (view article on recent conference held by
traditionalists http://www.ghananewsagency.org/details/Human-Interest/Afrikania-Mission-straightens-record-on-Trokosi/?ci=6&ai=44162).
It should be noted here, that the reference in the aforementioned article to
the US embassy dispelling any fears about enslavement within the shrine
villages ignores the fact that the U.S. embassy and any other entity that
wishes to visit any of these villages must seek permission first. This, of
course, gives the leaders of these villages ample time to hide any damning evidence
of their nefarious activities and the women that they interview are debriefed
before access is granted to any investigator. To be sure, one could have the impression that the assertions that are being proffered by the AM and other traditionalist are sound. However, their assertions beg the question, if these practices are so harmless, why does the AM and other organizations attempt to control access to these shrine villages? Moreover, why so much secrecy? If there is nothing to hide, anyone should be able to visit these shrine villages and witness the rituals even if from afar. And why is it that in the cases of those shrines under the auspices of the AM, outsiders are not allowed to interview the women in these villages impromptu and alone? I suppose that if I were abusing my children and someone wanted to investigate that fact, I would want to control access to my home and to my children who are being abused.
Christians must not be dissuaded by the propaganda that is being put forth by the traditionalists. The enemy is afraid that his gore fest is about to be exposed and they will stop at nothing to continue this debauchery. One must ask these individuals who are defending the Trokosi system if they would be willing to subject their own daughters or themselves to the type of treatment that has been revealed by former Trokosi women.
We urge all of our supporters and readers to continue to pray for the ending of these practices that are being sanctioned by the intelligentsia of the West African society. Forced servitude is wrong for any civilization and when it is being done in the name of a god, it then becomes a matter for Christians everywhere to fight against.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic
powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly places. (Eph 6:12 ESV)
The Lord’s blessings to all of you—always
