Reflections from James ...

Dr. Hei-Jung Kim prays over us
It was only a year ago when Denese and I stepped forward in response to our senior Pastor Dr. W. Jamie Kim’s summons on Sunday morning to those in the congregation at New Covenant Fellowship Church (NCFC) who had heard the LORD’s call to missions.  I can still remember the overpowering conviction of the Holy Spirit as the Pastor’s wife, Dr. Hei-Jung Kim, prayed over us.

I can remember the remarkable experience of the 40+ day Early Morning Prayer (EMP) campaign launched by Pastor Jamie this past Lent season:  from the many mornings of arriving at church before sunrise and praising the LORD before tackling the mundane affairs of my secular job, to the countless moments of intimacy with the Savior that helped open our ears to where the LORD wished for us to go and serve.

And now, by the LORD’s grace, we are approaching a departure date of February 18, 2012.  As I key these words, my heart swells with gratitude towards all of the people who the LORD has placed in our paths to help prepare us for the battle that lies before us. How characteristic of our Father, in that, it was during the February 2011 fasting campaign that the LORD confirmed to me that He wanted Denese and I to leave for the mission field as soon as possible.  Unbeknownst to us, a little known missions organization in Hebron, Indiana called Every Child Ministries (ECM) had been praying for missionary candidates to serve in their Trokosi Liberation Project.  Indeed, the day that the LORD would appoint for us to interview with ECM would be the day that they had specifically set aside to pray for the Trokosi project.  As the psalmist has said, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”
Please continue to follow this blogspot as we will post more often on our progress both financially and spiritually.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Everyone!!!
