Well, it’s now 2014 and we have been on furlough for
a little over 4 months. While we have
adjusted to the colder climate and the hustle bustle of life in the good ole
U.S of A, it seems strange not being in the field. Somehow, it seems as though we are missing
out on all the action. Hmm… and to think
I (James) couldn’t wait to get back home.
It’s not as though we have not kept busy. First there are our duties at Church: reuniting with our children, helping Pastor
Grace Kim with some of the ministries in our church Sunday school, visiting with
our Christian friends and last but, certainly, not least becoming reacquainted
with the maelstrom that is Christmas shopping!
But, there is still so much work left in the field—so
many more souls to reach for the Lord.
This weekend, I did get a chance to learn how Kimbap
is made. I actually helped with the
church luncheon. No, I did not
personally prepare this Korean delicacy, but I did help grate the carrots and
cut the rolls after they were prepared. And,
yes, I helped eat the mistakes too!
Anyway, it has been a tough week, with Denese off
visiting her parents and me stuck alone in the house with my mother. That’s a whole new story…
keep fighting the good fight! <3 you forkkios :)
